Thermino documentation hub overview (EU/UK)

👋Introduction

Hello, and welcome to Sunamp's Knowledge Base and Technical Documentation Hub!

Below is a tabulated breakdown of the technical information that is available in our knowledge base for our Thermino product ranges for the EU & UK markets. The purpose of this overview is to quickly help you identify the documentation that is most relevant for the application/use-case you are looking after.

ℹ️ Overview: Products, use-cases & documentation

Thermino ePlus

Thermino ePlus is a replacement for a traditional direct hot water cylinder, designed to provide domestic hot water for residential applications. It is powered by mains electricity and comes with an integrated 2.8 kW or 1.8 kW heating element.

Thermino ePlus can also utilise excess electricity generated from solar PV panels when used with the Optimino PV key (PV02) and a compatible power diversion controller. This helps maximise self-consumption and reduce energy bills.

The range is available in four sizes—70, 150, 210, and 300 litres—equivalent to conventional direct hot water cylinders.

Thermino ePlus is also compatible with volt-free timers, allowing users to schedule charging during off-peak periods and take advantage of time-of-use electricity tariffs.

Thermino xPlus

Thermino xPlus is a replacement for traditional indirect hot water cylinders, designed to provide domestic hot water for residential applications. It is primarily heated by an external heat source (such as a boiler or heat pump), with the option to also utilise solar PV as a secondary energy source.

Each Thermino xPlus is fitted with a 2.8 kW or 1.8 kW back-up electric heating element. This allows users to take advantage of demand-side response, excess solar PV generation, or direct electric boosting when required.

For correct operation, an Optimino key must be installed:

  • type 'XX01' – for systems using an external heat source without solar PV

  • type 'XX02' – for systems using both an external heat source and solar PV

Thermino xPlus heat batteries are available in three sizes—150, 210, and 300 litres—equivalent to conventional indirect hot water cylinders.

They are also compatible with volt-free timers, enabling users to schedule back-up electric charging during off-peak periods to benefit from time-of-use electricity tariffs.

Thermino TS

Thermino TS is a replacement for traditional indirect hot water cylinders, designed to provide domestic hot water for residential applications. It is heated solely by an external heat source (such as a boiler or heat pump).

Unlike other Thermino models, Thermino TS:

  • Does not include a back-up electric heating element

  • Does not require an Optimino key for operation

Thermino TS heat batteries are available in three sizes—150, 210, and 300 litres—equivalent to conventional indirect hot water cylinders.
